Harry Bicket OBE

Biography
Born in Liverpool, Harry Bicket studied at the Royal College of Music and the University of Oxford where he was Organ Scholar at Christ Church. He is an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music and was awarded an OBE in the 2022 Queen’s birthday honors.
Since 2007, Harry has been Artistic Director of The English Concert and following his five-year tenure as Chief Conductor of Santa Fe Opera, he was appointed Music Director in 2018. Aside from these prominent roles, Harry also enjoys a dynamic and multifaceted career as an opera conductor and a harpsichordist for the world’s preeminent opera houses and orchestras. In addition to his appearances across North America, Europe and Asia, he is a recurring guest at the Metropolitan Opera and founder of the annual Handel-in-opera series with Carnegie Hall.
A prolific recording artist, Harry has made numerous recordings with The English Concert, most recently, Handel’s Rodelinda and La Resurezzione and Serse released in 2023 for Linn Records to great critical acclaim. He has also recorded with some of the greatest opera singers of our generation and his discography has been nominated for Grammy and Gramophone Awards.
